This Harvest Festival 2025, we once again enjoyed it with two unique experiences: one at night at Antigua Bodega and another during the day at Bodega Alto de la Ballena. Both activities included grape harvesting and stomping, wine tastings accompanied by exquisite gastronomy, and a joyful atmosphere among those who joined us.
Harvest time is our favorite time of the year because it is when the wineries come alive and the birth of a new harvest takes place, showcasing the work of the entire year, as every good wine begins to take shape in the vineyard.
This year, we were once again part of this unique moment, with two very different proposals, in their nighttime and daytime versions, where we witnessed the making of the new 2025 wines.
The first activity took place at Antigua Bodega, located in the Santos Lugares area, in Canelones.
We arrived before sunset. We were welcomed by Virginia Stagnari, her daughter Mariana, and the team.
They were waiting for us with delicious bites and very fresh wines to start the adventure.
Then we did a tour of the winery and the long-awaited nighttime harvest with headlamps, a super fun experience and already a classic for Wine Explorers at each harvest.
Of course, the grape stomping couldn't be missed, to the rhythm of live DJ music.
For dinner, we enjoyed an exquisite menu by Mariana Tucuna, the queen of the flames.
To top it off, we ended the night dancing under the stars.
It was a magical night, where even the weather played its part so we could fully enjoy this celebration.
The second activity was with our friends from Bodega Alto de la Ballena.
Located in Maldonado, it is the oldest winery in this department, with incredible views of Laguna del Sauce and Sierras de la Ballena, which never cease to amaze us.
We were welcomed by its owner and winemaker Paula Pivel and her team.
We toured the vineyard, harvested the grapes with our own scissors, and stomped them as was done in ancient times.
Then on their panoramic deck, they awaited us with an exquisite lunch, accompanied by a selection of their most emblematic wines.
It was an incredible day from start to finish, surrounded by friends from different parts of the world, in a beautiful place. What more could we ask for?
Thanks a lot to these two incredible family wineries for opening their doors and welcoming us with such lovely details, as well as to those who joined us in both editions and made the magic possible.
Until the next adventure!
Cheers!
