Summer Day at Aguaverde Wine Lodge – 2025 Edition

Last Saturday, the 18th, we kicked off 2025 with our first event of the year, a summer classic from Wine Explorers: the Wine Summer Day at Aguaverde Wine Lodge.

Aguaverde is a truly unique place, a gem perched atop Cerro Eguzquiza in Maldonado, just 15 minutes from La Barra and two hours from Montevideo. Its landscape blends rolling vineyards with breathtaking panoramic views, majestic facilities, and an infinity pool that seems to merge with the horizon.

Aguaverde’s vineyards are carefully managed in collaboration with Bodega Familia Deicas, with whom they share a deep passion for wine. Their main grape varieties include Tannat, Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay, some of which are used to craft exclusive wines that can only be enjoyed at Aguaverde.

While the setting alone is mesmerizing, what truly captivates about Aguaverde is its people—an exceptional team that makes this place even more special.

Our day began with a relaxing time in the spectacular pool, accompanied by exquisite wines and delicious bites. Later, we gathered around a beautifully set table for a five-course wine pairing lunch, created exclusively for our group. The dedication and attention to detail that went into every dish made this experience one of a kind.

Before lunch, we enjoyed a fun and engaging wine tasting session, expertly guided by sommelier Adolfo Burger. He curated a perfect pairing in collaboration with the team of chefs, delivering a symphony of flavors that delighted our senses.

We are deeply grateful to Pancho Marqués and the entire Aguaverde team for their warmth and hospitality, to Adolfo Burger for sharing his knowledge with such passion, and, of course, to everyone who joined us from different corners of the world, bringing their unique energy and making this day truly unforgettable.

No matter how many times we visit Aguaverde, it always finds a way to surprise us. It was the perfect setting to kick off what promises to be an extraordinary year for Wine Explorers.
